Levitation photos

My idea for a levitation photo is to re-create
the flying bike scene from E.T. I do not know who my  model will be but it will probably be myself or one of my friends. The setting will probably be like a skate park or something because we need a ramp to become airborne. The camera will be placed in front of the launch area so the subject comes into frame without the ramp in the shot. It would be cool to get a basket and attach it to the front of the bike to make it as similar to the movie as possible. If i am the subject ill have to set the camera on timer for a fairly long time so i can enough get speed and height. After the photo is taken I think I might edit in a backdrop of the moon just to make it look just like the movie scene.

Motion

1 Chronophotography
2 Light Painting
3 frozen subject
4 moving subject
5 Panning

I plan to strap flashlights to the bottom of my skateboard
then ride it around to create cool light painting stuff. It will require a
low shutter speed, low iso, high f-stop. Night will be the best time
to take it because my mom wont let me skateboard through the house.

My favorite picture is the one of the girl looking up into the camera. The first thing that  i notice is the eyes. They are in focus and quite shiny so they draw the eye right to them. They are also quite large so they are hard to miss. The second thing i am drawn to is all of the freckles on her skin. They are interesting because the photo is in black and white so they stand out more than might normally. There is also a lot of freckles on her skin so it adds interesting texture. In conclusion, the way the photographer managed to make the parts of the face pop out makes this photo very pleasing to look at.

Portraits

Portrait
1. I learned that you should pick a background that is complimentary to the model's skin tone.

2. I  learned that it can be interesting to change the perspective or angle of the camera to add a different dimension to the photo.

posing-guide-photographing-women-09.jpg3. Experiment with eye contact. It can look better if the model is not just looking straight into the camera but rather at an object in the distance.

- Casual and sitting on the ground
-doesnt have to have hand up on face
          - change angle and model position for different effects

- Hands in the photo can make it more interesting
-Play around with position of hands

- More of the models body
-arms resting on knees
posing-photographing-female-models04.png-shooting from above is recommended

The way the light hits the leaf is the most interesting to me but I also think the eye is kinda drawn to the lens flare.
The most obvious compositional element is narrow depth of field. another is that the picture is macro so you can see the detail in the leaf. Lastly there is pattern because the the lines in the leaf make a pattern.
If i could chamge one thing i would get rid of the stud in the bench that is visible in the lower right corner. I just think it is not adding anything to the picture so it might as well not be there at all.

Aperture- Aperture is the amount of light that the camera lets in. The lower the f-stop the more light will be let in and the opposite for higher f-stop. This links up with exposure because if you have the aperture too low your picture might be over exposed because too much light came in or if aperture is too high the picture might be under exposed. It also relates to depth of field because the lower the f-stop the more shallow the depth of field and the higher the f-stop the deeper the depth of field.
